Melvin C V, a freelance digital marketing and n8n automation consultant based in Kochi, Kerala, had a problem familiar to almost anyone running client reports manually: every monthly SEO report cost him 2 to 3 full working days per client, just in production time.
The process was the usual grind — log into Google Search Console, log into Google Analytics, export data from both, reconcile different date formats and export structures between the two platforms, build charts, calculate month-over-month comparisons by hand, write up insights, format it all into a client-ready PDF, then review and send. Multiply that across several clients, and reporting season alone was eating days that could've gone toward strategy work, business development, or simply taking on more clients.
The build: one scheduled workflow, ten parallel data pulls
We built an end-to-end automated reporting system in n8n. Every Monday at 8:00 AM, a scheduler fires automatically and a configuration node sets the site URL and date ranges. From there, the workflow fans out into ten parallel API calls at once — Search Console overview, date breakdown, queries, pages, devices, countries, plus GA4 metrics — each one passing through its own extraction step before merging into a single unified dataset.
That merged data gets handed to OpenAI's GPT, acting as a data-driven SEO insights analyst, which generates 5 to 8 actionable bullet points referencing the actual metrics and trends in that specific report — not generic boilerplate. A custom script then assembles a full HTML report with KPI cards, channel tables, and interactive performance charts, which gets converted to a polished PDF and emailed automatically. Melvin gets a client-ready report in his inbox every Monday morning without opening a single tab.
What this actually delivered
- Report time: 2–3 days down to under 30 seconds
- Manual steps: 7+ steps down to zero
- Human error risk eliminated entirely — no more manually cross-referencing mismatched date formats between platforms
- 10 working days reclaimed every month — time that now goes toward strategy work or new clients instead of report production
In Melvin's own words: it used to take him 2 to 3 days to prepare a monthly report — now it takes minutes, and that time savings speaks for itself.

Why this matters beyond SEO reporting
The specific tools here were Search Console and GA4, but the shape of the problem is everywhere — any recurring report that means logging into multiple platforms, exporting, reconciling formats, and writing up insights by hand. If a report happens on a schedule and follows the same structure every time, it's very likely a candidate for exactly this kind of build.
If you're running a recurring report the same way by hand every month, that's exactly what we map out on a free strategy call.
